Ham and Cheese Croissant Casserole

Ingredients

  • 10 Cups Croissant pieces

  • 10 Large Eggs

  • 2 Cups Whole Milk

  • 2-3 Tbs Stone Ground Mustard

  • ½ tsp Dried Oregano

  • ¼ tsp Smoked Paprika, or regular Paprika

  • ½ tsp Salt

  • ½ tsp Ground Black Pepper

  • 1 pound Diced Ham

  • 8 oz Sharp or Extra Sharp Cheddar, grated

  • 8 oz Gruyere Cheese, grated

  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Directions

  1. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter.

  2. Place torn croissant pieces into the buttered baking dish.

  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, mustard, oregano, paprika, salt and pepper.

  4. Gently tuck the ham pieces in between the croissant pieces and leaving some scattered on top.

  5. Toss the two cheeses together and sprinkle it on top of the croissants, reserving 1 cup of the cheese blend. Gently press the cheese into the croissant pieces and ham.

  6. Pour the egg mixture over the top, making sure all the croissants are saturated.

  7. Top with the remainder of the cheese.

  8. Cover with foil and let sit for 1 hour or refrigerate overnight.

  9. When you are ready to cook, remove from the fridge and allow to sit at room temperature for 1 hour.

  10. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

  11. Bake covered with foil for 45 minutes. Uncover and bake for another 15 minutes. The top will be golden brown and bubbling.

  12. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving. Top with chopped green onions as a garnish if you like.

  13. ENJOY!!
